This custom dining table, made from northern hard maple, was created to exacting dimensions to fit into a small dining area. The client had been unable to find anything even close in the manufactured furniture he had seen. |

This craftsman style/Biedermeyer custom dining table and bench are made from solid cherry. The top is over 1 inch thick. It was created for a newly built home, and perhaps the most difficult part of the commission was matching the wood to an existing stained piece that the owner was very fond of. This is always difficult with hardwoods, since the wood itself is made up of various shades, hues and values. I experimented with at least eight different pigments before I found something that perfectly matched the existing piece, without obscuring the beautiful cherry grain. This custom table is hand rubbed to a high gloss.
